A Little About the Wizards

Through all their years of playing, the Wizards have gone through many different names.  First established as the Chicago Packers in 1961, the team quickly changed to the Chicago Zephyrs in 1962, then again to the Baltimore Bullets in 1963.  They stayed the Bullets for number of years but changed their place from Baltimore, to Capital, to Washington.  Then in 1974 the team became the Washington Wizards and have stayed that way for three and a half decades.  The strongest point in the Wizards' history is in the 1970's.  Except for 1 division title in 1969, the Wizards won all of their titles during that time.  Their record consists of 7 division titles, 4 conference titles, and 1 championship title in 1978.  Unfortunately, they have yet to have a title since 1979.  Can this be the Wizards' year for a big comeback?  Get your tickets to Verizon Center (also known as "The Phone Booth") and find out!
