A Little About the Chargers

In 1960 the San Diego Chargers began play and immediately showed they were a tough contender in the AFL.  Before joining the NFL as part of the NFL-AFL merger, the Chargers made the AFL playoffs 5 times, made it to the Championships 4 times, and won the 1963 AFL Championships.  Since the merge, however, the Chargers have only made 10 appearances in the playoffs and 4 in the AFC Championships.  They also made an appearance in Super Bowl XXIX in 1994 against the San Francisco 49ers but unfortunately lost.  Through their years of playing, the Chargers have hosted 6 players and 1 coach that became Hall of Famers.  Will this be the year that the Chargers make it back to the Super Bowl?  Get your tickets to Qualcomm Stadium and find out!
