A Little About the Nets

Established in 1967 at first as part of the ABA, the then New Jersey Americans did well for their time playing.  In 1968 the team name changed from the New Jersey Americans to the New York Nets.  It wasn't until the end of their time period with this name that they started winning.  Before joining the NBA in 1976, the New York Nets won 1 division title and 2 championships in 1974 and 1976.  Then in 1977 the team changed their name to the New Jersey Nets.  Since changing their name back, the Nets have won 4 division titles, 2 conference titles, but unfortunately no championship titles.  With their last division title in 2006 it is not unlikely that the Nets will go far into the playoffs this year so make sure you get your tickets to the Izod Center and catch up on all the action!
