A Little About the Wild

Finishing 3rd in the Northwest Division in the 2008-09 season, the Wild were only 2 points away from going to the playoffs.  In an effort not to repeat the same mistake, newly added head coach Todd Richards and GM Chuck Fletcher were added.  Also in the offseason, Dan Fritsche, Kurtis Foster, Marian Gaborik, Martin Skoula, Mark-Andre Bergeron, and Stephane Veilleux left the Wild and were replaced by Martin Havlat, Kyle Brodziak, Shane Hnidy, Greg Zanon, and Petr Sykora.  Now all that's left is for the team to improve internal growth as a team.  If all goes well, the Wild could be a strong contender for the playoffs in the 2009-10 season and make sure you get your tickets to the Xcel Energy Center now!

The Minnesota Wild are a rather young team, having only started play in 1997.  The original NHL team in Minnesota was the Minnesota North Stars who played from 1967 to 1993 when the team moved to Dallas.
