A Little About the Brewers

The 2008 season ended the same way as the 2007 season with the Milwaukee Brewers ending in 2nd place in the NL Central but with one difference, the Brewers made it to the playoffs as a wild card team, their first time in the playoffs since 1982.  Having been taken out in the division series was discouraging for the Brewers but the fact that the team that beat them, the Philadelphia Phillies, had gone on the win the World Series made the loss a little more acceptable.  As expected, Ben Sheets and CC Sabathia didn't re-sign with the team but in their place the Brewers picked up Braden Looper, Jorge Julio, and Trevor Hoffman.  With these new additions, the Milwaukee Brewers are looking strong for the 2009 season.  Will the team be able to go all the way in the new season?  Get your tickets to Miller Park and find out in what promises to be an exciting 2009!

Early Days of the Brewers

Originally known as the Seattle Pilots, the Milwaukee Brewers changed their name in 1969 when they moved to a city that already had an emphasis on baseball.  Moving into where the Braves had played, fans were able to see players like Warren Spahn, Hank Aaron, and Eddie Mathews, but it wasn't as easy for the Brewers.  The team was unable to really show what they were made of until 1981.
