A Little About the Royals

The Kansas City Royals' 4th place finish in 2008 was not all that bad.  Their win average had bumped from .426 to .463, but even with the improvement in their win average, the Royals still made some changes during offseason.  They brought on Coco Crisp, Dough Waechter, Mike Jacobs, Zack Greinke, Kyle Farnsworth, and Willie Bloomquist.  With these new players and some of the younger players like Luke Hochevar, Alex Billy Butler, and Alex Gordon reaching their full potential, there's going to be nothing stopping the Royals from taking the AL Central in 2009 so make sure you get your tickets to Kauffman Stadium and catch all the action!

The Beginning

Though the Royals may not be doing that well right now, they have their history to be proud of.  When they first started in 1969 as part of a baseball expansion, they were placed in Kansas to take the spot of the A's who had left a year earlier.  Although new, the team didn't waste any time becoming a force in the American League West by claiming 2nd three times in their first seven seasons.
