The Jonas Brothers' career started about 10 years ago when Nick was only six years old. He was discovered singing at a local barber shop and was referred to a professional show business manager from there. He began performing on Broadway and acting in plays. In 2002 Nick wrote a song called "Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)." Two years later in 2004, an Executive from Columbia Records found out about Nick's song and a short time later Nick was jointly signed to INO records and Columbia Records. He wrote and released his first single called "Dear God". A short time later he released his second single, a new solo recording of "Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)" on November 16.
Throughout 2005, Nick and his brothers Kevin and Joe, went on several tours including being the opening act for stellar bands such as Kelly Clarkson and the Backstreet Boys. Throughout 2006 the Jonas Brothers released a few singles such as "Mandy" and "Time for Me to Fly" as well as an album called "Its About Time."
Although the band experienced minor successes, Columbia Records decided to drop The Jonas Brothers in early 2007. It wasn't long before Hollywood Records recognized their talent and signed them up. Simultaneously, the group had began appearing in commercials.
Throughout 2007 the group released a number of singles as well s a self titled album called Jonas Brothers. It reached number five on the Billboard Hot 200 chart in its first week.
In August of that year, The Jonas Brothers made several television appearances including a guest-starred role in an episode of the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana as well as High School Musical.
In 2008 the Jonas Brothers' successes continued. iTunes announced the release of four of their songs, their third album called A Little Bit Longer was released, they were on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, they appeared on the Jay Leno show, and they kicked off their North AmericanTour in Toronto, Ontario in July.
In September, The Jonas Brothers are going to start filming a Disney Channel Original Series created by Michael Curtis. The show was previously title Junior Operative Networks as Spies or J.O.N.A.S but it is not clear as to whether the name will stay or not.
This young group (the eldest, Kevin, being 19) made history being the first group ever to sell more than 100,000 digital downloads for three consecutive singles.
