A Little About the Avalanche

The 2008-09 season was definitely not the best for the Colorado Avalanche, ending in last place in the Northwest Division.  However, new head coach Joe Sacco and new GM Greg Sherman, the Avalanche have potential to do great in the new season.  During the offseason, Super Joe Sakic retired and the team picked up 3rd overall draft pick Matt Duchene.  Even though 18 year old Duchene is very young, his previous performances and help of veteran captain Adam Foote are already aiming him to be a star player.  With the lineup of Brett Clark, John-Michael Liles, Scott Hannan, and Ruslan Salei, along with new members Tom Preissing and Kyle Quincey, the team is looking strong.  It's going to be a bumpy road back to the top and all the team could use now is support from their fans so make sure you get your tickets to the Pepsi Center and cheer the Colorado Avalanche to a great 2009-10 season!
