A Little About the Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles' last place finish in the AL East in 2008 was an obvious clue that the team need changing.  Cesar Izturis, Gregg Zaun, Ryan Freel, Rich Hill, Ty Wigginton, and Felix Pie were brought in to replace Adam Loewen, Kevin Millar, Brian Burres, Jay Payton, Garret Olsen, Alex Cintron, and Ramon Hernandez. Early Days of the Baltimore Orioles

During the 19th century, the Baltimore Orioles were much more popular, being one of the bigger franchises of baseball, so big that even baseball legends Babe Ruth and Lefty Grove played for them.  In 1903 when the Orioles moved to New York, the only thing remaining was their abilities in the minor league.  Major League didn't come back until 1953 when the St. Louis Browns became the new Baltimore Orioles.
